Doug Gorsline > This photo was taken on the road to Paradise Inn in Mount Rainier National Park. Mt Rainier is an active volcano, as evidenced by the active steam vent on the left flank of the summit. The massive Nisqually Glacier is visible on the right side, just above the foreground trees. All of Mt. Rainier's glaciers are rapidly receding due to global warming.
Doug Gorsline > This photo of the Paradise River Valley and meadow was taken on a September evening from the Paradise Loop Road below Paradise Inn. This same evening we saw a black bear on the far side of this valley, well out of camera range.
